Lorongandlane works are created by Kate Teng who is an artist and architect based in Penang, Malaysia. She is known for her detailed and precise artworks created in pencil and watercolours. Kate is inspired by nostalgic ‘lorong and lane’ (streets) and facades of 19th-20th century shophouses of old Penang and Singapore. She captured the character and atmosphere of these buildings with intricate details of the physical built form, their functions and occupants, revealing stories across time. She has collaborated with a range of clients on commissioned pieces for both commercial and private heritage properties. Lorongandlane prints and cards are retailed at stockists in Penang and Kuala Lumpur. For updates and latest artworks, follow her on instagram @lorongandlane.
